Italia

I can honestly say that my six week trip to Rome with 2 Catholic sisters and 24 other Latin teachers was a major turning point in my life.

For the first time, I was able to relax, let go, and enjoy the view. Because I was not under the academic pressure, I could read Latin and take in the sites without worrying about being "perfect" or "the best." I learned so much from the others on that trip about Latin and life. I realized at a cafe in Ischia that I needed to make a job change.

This trip also marked the longest time I have spent away from my family. Not that I didn't think that I could do it, but it was great to grow those wings of independence. I have always considered myself a late bloomer, and this was just another step to developing into the person that I am really supposed to be. I couldn't be an introvert on this trip. Well, it was either take some risks or starve!
