It Doesn't matter one Iota.

I'm sure you have heard the phrase, "It doesn't matter one Iota!" when referring to how one little mis-step does not mean a huge change in meaning. Consider a story the chaplain at school told me:

After the Council of Nicea, in the 5th century, Christians were debating the nature of Jesus, whether he was of the same substance as the Father, i.e., God himself, or whether he was of a like substance as the Father. The words in Greek are, homoiousious (which means "like substance"), or, homoosious (which means, "of the same substance").

What is the difference? One iota. To think that this caused such a rift in the church that people were killing others and leaving the church.

This is a much better explanation about why I am a tough grader than my "Partial credit caused the Challenger explosion" argument.
